Tech Tips for Mobile Phone User

Today, there are a lot of  mobile phones that you can choose from and they’re so advanced that they can sometimes be rather intimidating! Some are so technical that it takes a couple of days to learn how to use them. While some companies really try hard to make everything user friendly. a few more mobile phone tips won’t hurt. So here are our tech tips for the mobile phone user.

Screen protectors are a must!

All PDAs and smartphones need basic care. Whether you have an iPhone, a Motorola, HTC, Samsung Sonny Ericsson or any other brand out there, you’ll have a screen that will scratch. For mobile phones from Motorola, iPhone, and HTC, the first thing that you must do to ensure that your mobile phone will last long, is to put on a screen protector.
The protector protects the gadget from any scratch or invasive elements, like snow and rain. Mostly, screen protectors are transparent and very thin with adhesives to be attached to the screen.  This is one of many tech tips, but is often overlooked.

Get organized with tones.  This tech tip saves time, money and headaches.

It is highly advisable that you assign different kind of alert tones and ring tones for your contacts, online activities, and other reminders that you need so you can know what’s on the calendar without having to look at your smart phone.

Tones will also help you identify the caller. This is very important when you can’t take the call. There’s no need to scramble for the phone, especially when you’re driving because you’ve identified it already from the tone! Also make sure that your alerts have different tones, too. This way you know, again without glancing at the phone, whether you got an email or a text message. Another big help when you’re driving. These two tech tips may actually save your life!

Password Protection – A Tech Tip to Save your Data!
Password is essential in protecting your phone and its contents. Imagine having a stranger go through your emails and your texts, or any of those applications you saved on your phone that may be very damaging to your safety, security and financial well-being.

Security experts keep reminding us that the best thing for you to do if your phone get lost or stolen, is to wipe the data and reset it to factory settings. The good news is, this can be done remotely.

Some iPhone Tips

Depending on who your carrier is, your iPhone may have a little antenna on the side. This is to accommodate Verizon’s CDMA  technology. Care should be given that you don’t press on this too hard, better yet, if you don’t touch it at all. Some iPhone cases will therefore not fit on this Verizon iPhone model. Do not force the issue. Your calls depend on this little antenna! This is definitely one of those iPhone tips that you should master on the first day!

Here’s one more of iPhone tips you have to know: Don’t look for a SIM card, because there may not be one. This again will happen if you have a Verizon iPhone 4. Because all phones on Verizon’s network run on CDMA technology, its phones do not need SIM Cards. Downside, you can’t switch SIM Cards when you’re traveling abroad. Upside, one less thing to lose!

And now for the Droid Tips

The Android operating system, when introduced a few years ago was another game changer. Just like the iPhones, Android phone were smarter, faster, better designed than those that ran on Windows. Now, a lot of these Droid phones are on generation 3.0 and 4.0 and each one just keeps on getting better.

Nevertheless, here a few Droid tips to make life easier for you: HTC’s phones running on Android operating system  (from cupcake to éclair to Froyo) have been named smartest or best by top editors from tech magazines. And it’s because they are designed to work with the user and give him a seamless interface. There is a quiet elegance to the Droid. It doesn’t shout its features, in fact one CNET editor called it, “the best smartphone in the market right now.”

The screen is super responsive. The good thing is, you won’t have to press twice or tap twice. The bad thing is, it doesn’t account for mistakes. So be careful. It will frustrate you if you’re in a hurry, so here are our Droid Tips: relax, it knows what you want to do and let it do it for you. This is your moment of Zen. One tap is enough. Let go. No poking!

A smaller joystick! What? A joystick on a Droid Phone? Well. it replaces the trackball and  is more effective than it. Two Droid Tips: it’s a smaller size, so again, be careful. If you let this frustrate you, your missing out on what it can deliver. It is super sensitive, so when you press down, do it lightly!

Smartphones are really smart. They know what we want to do and sometimes, these phones even lead us to do just that in a lot more efficient ways. Learn to know your phone. Do not limit yourself to just calls, texts and emails. If you do, you’re missing on the best feature these smartphones have: their intuitiveness can make your life easier!
